Mike, a professional architect and audiophile, was only 10 years old when he first got hooked to photography, after he realized the magic that happens in a darkroom; a legacy he credits to his mom. He appreciates a variety of genres – from street to portrait and landscape to still life. But he is drawn more to the message or the meaning of the photograph and as such, considers still life, as a favorite, in that he can exert absolute control over the image and it’s message. He believes that each one must find their own truth and not worry about contests and “likes” in social media; there is no such thing as a universally great image. In his own creative process, he thinks of the negative as the composer’s score and the print as the performance. This principle had helped him to understand more, photography and music, He hopes to one day, to shoot the Icebergs in the Arctic and Antarctic.
