Jian is a professional stock trader who also helps manage his family’s office supplies business. In photography, he has found a way of capturing memories and the beauty of life; evoking a sense of calm and solitude in his photos, in contrast to the hustle and bustle of everyday life. His favorite photography subjects are portraits, blue hour, travel, and sunrise/sunset. Jian’s youthful disposition and wisdom are aptly reflected in his dream of one day surfing inside a barrel wave and his attitude about life: “the real secret of life — to be completely engaged with what you are doing in the here and now. And, instead of calling it work, realize it is play. The meaning of life is just to be alive.” (Alan Watts).
