Authenticity to self; breaking rules rather than breaking one’s vision, is Angela’s personal philosophy in photography. She shoots what resounds to her and tries to avoid shooting to please the audience. In the beginning Angela got into photography, because she needed an excuse to go out and see the world;  going for a shoot seemed like a legitimate reason to walk the streets and meet new faces. Over time, these extroverted motivations found its roots into deeper, quieter ground; shooting became Angela’s way of finding her voice; her way to unravel. Her interest in the field, which she now considers her passion and creative outlet, has evolved from shooting fine art street to fine art abstracts. Angela’s images evoke an ambiguous appeal; what she refers to as “the mendacity of photography”. It’s a peculiarity that she loves about the art, an influence from her favorite writer/photographer’s (Sally Mann) words: “If it doesn’t have ambiguity, don’t bother taking it. Her district goal as a photographer:  to be able to say that she has achieved, a distinct tone, voice, and look in her narratives.
