The President’s Viewfinder
November 2024
Leys Masangcay
As we gather for our final meeting of the year, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for what we have accomplished together. This year has truly flown by, and it’s incredible to reflect on the many milestones we’ve achieved.
From our monthly contests that showcased the diverse talents within our club, to the three exhilarating out-of-town shoots that took us to breathtaking locations (Pampanga, Dumaguete and Hong Kong), each event has been a testament to our collective passion for photography. Our exhibits at the Graphic Expo and at the Photo Fiesta in One Ayala have not only displayed our work to a wider audience but have also inspired many. And who could forget the meaningful work made during our annual Golf Tournament? Each of these activities has strengthened our bonds and enriched our experiences as photographers.
Looking ahead, we still have some very important activities lined up. On November 9, an apt Z Academy year-ender is the talk by our very own Oscar Soriano, a member of the exclusive League of Loyals at ZVCC. His talk is “Real Zombies Live Forever, Growing Old with Zone V” to be held at the Ayala Museum.
On November 16, we will have an outreach program and turn over the proceeds from the Images of HOPE and Golf Tournament to the students at Tuna Balibago Elementary School in Talim Island, within Laguna de Bay. This initiative is close to our hearts, and I encourage everyone to participate and witness the positive impact we can make in the lives of these youths. We encourage you to sign-up as boat transfers to the island is provided to ZVCC members, plus we get the chance to take a photo walk in this enchanting island within a lake.
Then, on December 5, we will be unveiling our Thrive book project and exhibit at the prestigious Ayala Museum. This project has been a labor of love, and I am excited to see our collective efforts come to fruition in such a renowned venue.
That same evening, we will celebrate our Club Christmas Party and Excellence Awards. It will be a night of joy, recognition, and celebration of the outstanding work and dedication of our members throughout the year.
And not to forget, I wish all the best to all our participating members in our photo contest, as the theme this November is CINEMATIC and shots were all taken during the Hong Kong OTS. I am really looking forward to see all your amazing shots.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for your continued support and active participation. Your enthusiasm and commitment are what make our club vibrant and successful. Whether you have been with us for years or have just joined, your contributions are invaluable.
As we close this chapter and look forward to the new year, let us carry forward the spirit of creativity, learning, and community that defines the Zone V Camera Club. Together, we will continue to capture the beauty of the world around us and share it with others.
Thank you once again for an unstoppable year. I look forward to seeing you all at our upcoming events and celebrating our achievements together.
My best,
Acknowledgments:
