September 2024

RAIN. We’ve been inundated by it the past couple of weeks. Tis the season. Some like it, others don’t. But who are we to abhor it if it gives farmers the much needed drench for the food crops? Zone V members like the rain, of course, as it gives us the opportunity to shoot for the September theme.
RAIN, the theme for this month came pouring with a deluge of entries during the in-person Club meeting at the Ayala Museum. Guest judges’ Annabelle Chavez, Yvette Fernandez and Larry Monserate Piojo had a difficult but fun time choosing among the images submitted.
A big thank you to all who participated and were present during the event.
This month also heralds the “BER” months. It is the last stretch of the year, but at Zone V, brace yourselves as more activities are yet to be held.
I trust you have made bookings for the Hongkong OTS, which happens next month, Oct 15-21. Billy Palatino, the OTS Head has planned exciting activities. An organized photowalk happens Oct 18 and fellowship dinner on Oct 19, Saturday.
Meanwhile the Book Project we have in partnership with Ayala Foundation Inc. is on its last stretch. From final copy editing, book designing, paper choice and printer selection, it is all coming to fruition. Our partners at AFI has targeted that the launch will be this November.
Also this November, we shall be unveiling our partner and beneficiary for the ZVCC Images of HOPE’s Learning Hub. Our project lead, Happy Milan is working steadfastly on this undertaking.
Last but not least, I am happy to mention that we have recently concluded the election of the 2025 Board. The newly elected 2025 ZVCC Board are as follows: Armi Yam, Tony Rivera, Happy Milan, Jeff Dytuco, Billy Palatino, Kobi Janairo, Dru Magturo, Mike Olivares and yours truly as ex-officio.
May I also make special mention to the hardworking COMELEC, namely, Jen Perez and Argyle Camacho, who ensured the elections were done fair and square.
Congratulations to the newly elected 2025 ZVCC Board!
Again, my most gracious appreciation for all your support and let us continue working on the ideals of excellence in photography while keeping the bond of friendship aflame. Go ZVCC! UNSTOPPABLE indeed!
My best,
