July 2024

Leys Masangcay

As we step into July, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for our unstoppable community. Our mantra for 2024—“Bigger, Bolder, Brighter, UNSTOPPABLE!”—has truly come to life.

After 5 years of not having a collective physical Club exhibit at the Graphic Expo, mainly due to the pandemic, Zone V Camera Club has gone on to showcase its images on display at the recently concluded 27th Graphic Expo in SMX, Mall of Asia. What a comeback it was as it was a resounding success! Our active members poured their creativity and passion into capturing the essence of life through their lenses. The theme, “This Is Us: A Visual Journey,” celebrated our individuality and unique styles. Kudos to all participants and our dedicated Exhibit Chair, Angela Panlilio! The simple celebration during the ribbon-cutting ceremony gathered the members plus their families into an intimate event of being one and showcasing our craft.

I am also thankful that 5 of our members got on the main stage at the Expo to share thoughts on the topic “INSIGHTS: Photography as a Creative Medium”. Featured artists were Angela Panlilio, Bern Wong, Jeff Dytuco, Kobi Janairo and Mike Olivares.

But that’s not all, moving forward, our team is hard at work on the book project with Ayala Foundation, a collaboration that promises to inspire and touch hearts. Stay tuned for exciting updates!

Meanwhile, our Board, led by Happy Milan and Billy Palatino has set its sights on two remarkable projects: “Images of HOPE” will allow us to make a meaningful impact beyond photography and the “HongKong OTS.” shall foster camaraderie while sharpening our aesthetics as we go on an international trip this October.

And this coming July 20, Zone V Camera Club has collaborated with Radiant Photo PH, as they conduct their brand launch at the Ayala Museum. Do sign-up for this launch as Club members are in for a special treat! Do check it out, after all, our very own Arlene Donaire is a brand ambassador.

And let’s not forget our July contest theme: “Minimalistic Images with Fauna as Subject.” May your creativity soar as you capture the essence of simplicity and nature.

Thank you for being part of this unstoppable journey. Together, we’ll continue to push boundaries, inspire, and create magic through our lenses.

Wishing you all the best,
