The 2024 ZVCC Golf Tournament
By Emman Araullo
May 8, 2024 – After months of meticulous planning, Zone V Camera Club, spearheaded by Golf committee chairwoman, Bern Wong, successfully held it’s 3rd Annual Golf Tournament at the North course of Valley Golf Country Club in Antipolo. Despite the scorching heat in the Metro, more than 100 avid golfers were present to support the sold out event. Prior to 18-hole affair, players were welcomed by ZVCC president Leys Masangcay. Behind the scenes, Zone V members were in charge of registration, pre-drawn raffles, and everything that was needed for the event. Zombies also did what they do best – taking photos of the golfers in different locations throughout the course while members who stayed in the club house were working behind the scenes sorting and organizing the photos and raffle prizes.
As soon as the 18 holes were done, players congregated back at the club house for lunch and socials. The live raffle was also held while waiting for the official results to be tallied; among the major prizes to be raffled off included prints taken by Zone V club members, TV’s, tablets, golf equipment, and gift certificates which were generously donated by the ZVCC and the event sponsors.
When asked for a message after the event, Bern Wong, had this to say…
“Congratulations and a big thank you to the hardworking Golf Committee members of Zone V for organizing another successful golf tournament last May 8, 2024. Of course this project will not be possible without the support of our generous sponsors and golf buddies who went all the way to Valley Golf, braved the heat, to show support for our club. We look forward to organizing more fun endeavors like these to raise money to fund the club’s outreach projects through Images of Hope. Let’s make a difference through photography and golf! “
All of these were for a worthy cause as proceeds from the golf event will be used to support the Images of H.O.P.E (Helping Others Prosper and Excel). The club’s social service campaign which donates learning hubs to the youth of underprivileged communities.
