April 2024

And the heat is on!
Temperatures have suddenly soared, with the sun king baking the metro as we all simmer in sweat this summer season. The heat is on at Zone V too as we are full steam ahead with multiple activities in play.
The Book Project with Ayala Foundation has started to deploy our volunteer members for the shoot. A great majority will have their assignments fulfilled this April and in May. You’ll see that most weekends, our talented photographers are hopping on planes to different locations around the country. It doesn’t stop there. Images have to be post processed and curated just in time for the printing and exhibit that happens next.

The Club is also neck deep preparing for the 3rd ZVCC Golf Tournament. This is a critical fund raising project as it will help finance the beneficiaries of Images of HOPE as we build another Learning Hub this 2024. We’ve mentioned that your time, talent and connections are needed. But the additional call to action that we have to ask our members is to help in ticket sales, provide leads for sponsors or donations that can help us in any way to reach our target for this project, as part of the proceeds will also help finance Club activities that members will directly benefit from.
This month, the Club’s photo contest theme is “NO HUMAN ELEMENT”, we realize that we stretched our members with this theme, and pushed it even further as the requirement is a diptych image, with a one-word title in Filipino and shot during the OTS in Pampanga. It would be interesting to see how the images turned out and what the judges have to say during the critique session. All this happens on our Club meeting this April 11, Thursday via Zoom.
Lastly, hope you’ve cleared your calendars for May 23-26 and started booking your tickets as ZVCC heads on another OTS in Dumaguete.
Have a sizzling time this April everyone!
My best,
