The President’s Viewfinder

March 2024

By Leys Masangcay

March marched on quite fast! At Zone V Camera Club, March is a pretty special month as it is the month we celebrate The Club’s founding anniversary. And this month of March, so much has already happened the past weeks and much more are expected in the coming days.

We’ve already had the well-attended and interesting OTS in Pampanga, organized by the OTS Team, headed by Billy Palatino. Clearly shooting for “No Human Element” was challenging, but knowing the talents of the members, everyone will rise to the occasion with shots that are wow and collar grabbing. It wasn’t just shooting we did in Pampanga, by the way, but lots of eating too as we were in one of the country’s culinary capital.

I have also mentioned that the Book Project in collaboration with Ayala Foundation is now in full swing. The first group has been deployed to their assignment. The other volunteer photographers for this book project has been given their assignments along with the shooting location and dates.

Might interest you to know that “zombies” will be deployed from far north of Luzon to down south of Mindanao. By the way, we have asked Willie De Vera, the director of photography and the first Team who shot in Navotas to share their experience to the bigger group this coming Club Meeting about their learnings and insights so that the others may come to their assignments well prepared.

My thanks to all the volunteer photographers for your commitment to the project. Indeed, our gratitude to Ayala Foundation too for taking care of the much needed logistical resources to go to the location sites.

Shoot dates for the project will continue till mid May.

This March 16, Saturday will be our Club Meeting and 46th Anniversary Celebration. It will start at 1pm with a Z Academy talk by Mr. Jun Miranda – ENLIGHTEN: exploring editing techniques and unveiling new features of Lightroom.

Followed by our monthly photo contest for the theme: FACELESS PORTRAITS and of course our monthly meeting and joint Anniversary Celebration. Everyone is welcome to this celebration, please wear RED and bring along something you want to share with other members for the buffet potluck, at the Ayala Museum.

Happy 46th ZVCC!!!
