We’ve ticked the boxes in our to do for this last quarter. An epic OTS in Iloilo. Four days filling our tummies with the delectable food. Four days building memories through laughter, shopping for souvenirs, touring, oh and yes, shooting the sights. It was one for the books, at least for me. Iloilo was a gem, spending time with everyone, a treasure.
We also launched our third baby. Our Images of HOPE’s Learning Hub with VIRLAINE foundation in Barangay Bagong Silangan, Quezon City. “To put one child through school can change for the better the whole family’s future”. This was the resounding message that day. To see the beneficiaries, their parents, our members, our family and their family, mingling, never gets old. Pamilya para sa Pamilya is a wonderful mantra to keep close to our hearts specially as the holiday season is just around the corner.
We have just one more in our list. Our year-end thanksgiving, Christmas and awarding event all rolled into one. Thanksgiving because this is a party subsidized by the Club as our first ROAD TO GOLD treat for its active members. The dinner and program revelries will be covered by the funds generated by our successful Golf Tourney. A step towards what will build into our, fingers crossed, legendary 50Th year celebration. Christmas because it IS that time of the year. A time of coming together and celebration. And last, but not least, it will be our awarding ceremony. For a year with challenging themes to vie for and members upping and upping their game. We have kept the last 2 months of the scoring blind, so the reveal on the 4th of December will be thrilling. To top that, we have our probees crafting, planning, and innovating to bring us all, what we hope, is another night to remember.
As we wind down, I look back at the year that was – and smile.
Our hope in the board was really to bring you all a year that would do just that, smile – At the new friendship forged, at the new memories made , at the new skills in photography earned, at the times where we broke bounds and made ZVCC a true coming together where we all can EXHALE, ENGAGE, ENJOY.
As your 2023 president, it has been a true honor to have served you all. I am eternally grateful to the board – Leys, Bern, Ian, Mike, Armi, Arlene, Ruben, Willie. They were above and beyond in making this year as it was.
To the special “call a friend” friends , you know who you are, thank you for always saying yes when I found myself frantic or in a tizzy. To the amazing batch of probees, all I can say is thank you for making us sing more, dance more – and gulp more. . And for challenging us with the amazing images that you put out there, congratulations for the wins and special mentions! Last but not the least, to all our members, maraming salamat for being present at the walks, the talks, the contests, the OTS and everything else in between. We are who we are because of you all. Let’s keep this up. Let’s remain ZVCC strong 2023 and beyond!
My best to the incoming board helmed by our new 2024 President Leys Masangcay. I predict : ZVCC will be UNSTOPPABLE!
See you all December 4!
