The Educational Research Development Assistance (ERDA), founded by French Missionary, Fr. Pierre Tritz in 1974, found the very high drop-out rate of students in public schools. Fr. Tritz served the least, the last and the lost until his death in 2016, whose life mission was to reintegrate underprivileged students back to school through a wholistic support of their educational needs.

The ERDA SaBaNa Foundation (Sanayan ng mga Batang Nananambak), located in Radial Road 10, Tondo, Manila is a satellite center that nurtures care through the education of the marginalized youth (formerly scavengers) is this year’s beneficiary of Zone V Camera Club’s outreach project, Images of H.O.P.E. through an online Print Sale happening Oct 23-30, 2022.

Proceeds from the Print Sale will be used to gift a Learning Hub to the 600 youths at the SaBaNa center that would enable them to further their education and gain access to information through the availability of 10 desk top computers with internet connection, in partnership with PLDT Home, as they currently lack these important learning tools.

This is the second year that Zone V Camera Club (ZVCC) and PLDT Home is doing Images of H.O.P.E. Last year, the Assumption Development Foundation in Sapang Palay, Bulacan, was gifted a Learning Hub furnished with computers and internet connection. The project has tremendously helped students cope with the demands of education.

ZVCC has seen the need to go beyond its art and found its purpose to share its craft with others and make a difference. This is aligned with the statement of the President of both ERDA and Xavier School, Fr. Aristotle Dy, S.J., when he said “the creation of a Learning Hub helps in nation building, one child at a time.”

ZVCC paid tribute to the ERDA SaBaNa beneficiaries through a literary depiction of this years Images of H.O.P.E.’s curated boxed sets – Larawang Likha, Handog sa Kapwa.
