The President’s Viewfinder
February 2022
Bern Wong
It is time to paint the town red once more as it is a rosy and festive February!
So much has happened last month at ZVCC and I am happy that we got an overwhelming attendance during our first Zoom meeting in January. It has topped the attendance of all our previous Zoom meetings (with the exception of our Z Hub launch). I am also honored that ZVCC pioneer and the first club president and first POTY, Mr Vic Rodriguez graced our kick-off meeting.
I am also pleased to share that everything we’ve planned, came to fruition with much success despite the challenges of the pandemic.
Over the weekend we had our first “let’s Z Places” event, the BGC photo walk organized by Arlene Donaire with guest photo walk leader Jijo De Guzman, wherein over 24 members joined the fun and liberating occasion of being out in the open shooting with friends after a long while.
The BGC ‘let’s Z Places’ event was done to equip members produce shots for our February contest theme “Geometry In Architecture”
The monthly contest and meeting happens this February 10, 8pm, via Zoom.
We are also pleased to note that to date, we have 6 probee’s that have signed up and will be formally introduced this coming Town Hall meeting.
In line with our 2022 mantra, EXPAND, EXPLORE, EVOLVE, our Z Academy team even beefed up their learning and development program by ‘expanding’ sessions to address your ‘evolving’ needs.
The team is ‘exploring’ informal pocket learning sessions based on your requirements and resource persons will be club members who are adept to talk about the topics on hand. The Huddle sessions will be on top of the planned Z Academy seminars.
Meanwhile, we are also pleased to tell you that should you wish to update your online collection of featured photos on our Z Gallery, we shall be informing you soon about this development.
You must have seen the changes in the way we communicate our ZVCC news, features, stories and ideas, the Communications Team have certainly imbibed our Expand Explore Evolve mantra.
Willie De Vera (above)
and Leys Masangcay are leading the Communications Team and they have been trying to come up with fast, accurate, creative, engaging and substantial ways to bring to you the information you need.
We are also pleased to see an uptrend in terms of traffic and visits to our Z Hub website, where most of our communications are compiled.
You will see more innovative ways on how we will bring the information to you. Our request meanwhile, is for you to join and be part of the writer’s pool as we need more talents showcased in our various communications platform.
Last but not least, we have started planning for Special Events coming up.
Ruben Castor Ranin is heading the Special Events Committee and has started the ball rolling for the 44th Year Celebration of the Club and our Outreach program lined up.
Again, my sincerest thanks to members that have signed-up to be active in 2022. My deepest thanks to our formerly inactive members who decided to jump back in on the ZVCC train.
I urge the others who haven’t done so, that there is still time for you to sign up and be part of our Expanding, Exploring and Evolving ZVCC.
In closing, as we enter the roaring Year of the Water Tiger, let me greet everyone ‘Kung Hei Fat Choi’, and as the 14th is just around the corner, a love-filled air be yours this time of year and always!
